#RecreateResponsibly
What does that mean to us? The Recreate Responsibly guidelines offer a starting point for getting outside while keeping yourself healthy and maintaining access to our parks, trails, and mountains. Be safe, be thoughtful, be considerate, and be inclusive as you explore this winter.
The Backcountry Responsibility Code
In skiing we are our best selves. @ski_kind | #skikind | skikind.com
1. SKI KIND
Do unto others. Be a good neighbor. Help out. Don’t be a kook. Be nice to kooks. #recreateresponsibly
2. SKI AWARE
Avalanches kill. Get educated. Understand the forecast. Have a plan. Be prepared to change it. Ski self-reliant. Keep your eyes open. #KBYG
3. SKI SMART
Know your gear. Know your limits. Keep skills sharp. Beacons on. Dig pits. Avoid dangerous terrain and conditions. Live to ski another day.
4. SKI RESPECTFUL
Be cordial. Leave room. Respect closures and guidelines. Don’t posthole in the skintrack. Look before you drop. Farm turns. Preserve powder.
5. SKI NO TRACE
Take only photos, leave only tracks. Poop not in the watershed. #tagresponsibly #packitout @leavenotracecenter
6. SKI INCLUSIVE
Share it. It belongs to everyone. Everyone is welcome. Be a mentor. Find a mentor. Be community.
7. SKI FUN
Without infringing on anyone else’s experience.
